Thoughts from today’s reading
Job 8:5-7. When one follows the Lord in sincerity and truth, then there are spiritual principles that God has set in place which will work for them. He will hear their prayers and rise up to their aid, their dwelling place will prosper, the laws of growth will work for them so that when they start small they greatly increase at their end.
1 Corinthians 15:1-5. The power of the gospel of Jesus Christ centres around Christ dying for our sins, being buried and rising again on the third day. Any other idea that does not corroborate this truth is misleading and ineffective to help the believer.
1. Father, I thank you for the principles you have set in place for my benefit. I thank you that you hear my prayers, you rise up to help me in my time of need, you prosper the works of my hands and you cause me to increase greatly.
2. Lord, we declare the gospel of Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified, he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. Thank you for the power of the gospel that saves us in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
