Day 98

Reading for today
Old Testament: 1 Kings 1, 2, 3
New Testament: Acts 9

Thoughts from today’s reading
1 Kings 3. Solomon sought the Lord with all his heart and he gave abundantly out of his possessions to honour the Lord with the sacrifices he made at Gibeon. When God appeared to him, he asked for wisdom for the purpose of leading God’s people in the right way. This was pleasing to God as he put God’s kingdom and purpose first. The Lord then granted him wisdom, but also added many other things to him.

Acts 9:10-19. The Lord spoke to a man called Ananias about how He had converted Saul. He then told him to go and pray for him so that his eyes would be opened and he would receive the Holy Spirit. God was very specific and led this man very accurately to carry out His will for Saul.

Prayer
1. Lord Jesus, you said we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing will be added to us. We come before you today and say, let you kingdom and will take the first place in our lives. Fill us with wisdom to do what you will have your church do in these times. We ask that your purpose will be fulfilled through us in Jesus name.
2. Lord, you are very clear and specific about what you want done in the lives of your people. Father we pray that our sensitivity to your Spirit will increase and you will use us to bring the revelation of Jesus Christ, His will and purpose to the lives of the believers around us. Lord as we saw you move in your church in the book of Acts, we pray that we begin to see such outpouring of your Spirit in these days, in Jesus’ name we pray.
