Day 101

Reading for today
Old Testament: 1 Kings 10, 11, 12
New Testament: Acts 12

Thoughts from today’s reading
1 Kings 11:1-13. Solomon had great promises from God because of his Father David, and he also had great experiences with God because he sought Him earnestly, but all of that did not matter when he decided to turn away from the Lord, allowing his heart to follow after other gods. We will always remain personally accountable for our relationship with God today, it is always the most important day in our lives and we should ensure we live it for Him.

Acts 12:5-19. Herod had killed one of the apostles, James, and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter but was unable to kill him before the Passover so he put him in prison. Thank God that Jesus Christ is our Passover, so at the commemoration of that feast and on the prayers of the Church, Peter was delivered by the hand of an angel. The interesting thing about Passover is that when the angel shows up, he delivers those marked by God and he executes judgement on those that afflict God’s people. It is no wonder that Herod was struck by the angel in the same season.

Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, I thank you that this is the day that you have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. I choose to live for you today, I refuse to rely on any experience of yesterday to rob me of the opportunity to press on with following you today. I will not allow any hope of tomorrow to make me complacent in seeking you today. Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy that will keep me going strong till the day of Christ.
2. Thank you Lord for Jesus Christ our Passover. I declare that every expectation of men to see me harmed or fail is dissapointed by the sacrifce Jesus made to ensure that I am marked by His blood forever. Therefore, untimely death, passover, wicked plots of men, passover, expectations that fight against my progress, passover, attackc agains Gods purpose for my life, passover, resistance to the church of Christ, passover, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
