Day 202

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 126, 127, 128
New Testament: Titus 2

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 127. The Lord does not build physical houses, so this is referring to building according to God’s plan. When we have a plan from God, our labour to build a house, family, church, nation or anything else will not be in vain. Jesus referred to two men building a house, one built on the sand, and the other on the rock. The man who built on the rock had God’s plan revealed in the words of Jesus.

Titus 2:11-15. It is the grace of God that brings salvation to us, and when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, this same grace teaches us to let go of our former life and affinity to the world and hold on to the word and ways of God.

Prayer
1. Father, I receive your plan for my life through the word of God. May my eyes be open to recognise those things in your word you will have me do, may my ears be attentive to listen to the voice of your Spirit and may my heart be obedient to all you instruct me. Lord, I ask for mercy wherever I am building in vain, I receive your help and guidance to start over according to your plan. This I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
2. Lord, I come boldly to the throne of grace to receive an abundance of your grace to help me in a time of need. I dedicate myself to the life of Christ and I put off any form of ungodliness and worldly lust. I put on sobriety, righteousness and godliness as I purify my heart with the words of Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for your grace.
