Day 205

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 135, 136, 137
New Testament: Hebrews 1

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 136. The Lord by mercy performed several acts to display His greatness and help His people. The bible encourages us to come to God’s throne and obtain mercy to help us in a time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Whatever situation we face, there is mercy available from God to see us through it.

Hebrews 1:1-4. God created the world through Jesus Christ and has given Him ownership of all things. If we live in Christ, then we have access to all things He has created. This is why the scripture says in Romans 8:32 that if God gave us His Son, Jesus, then how shall He not also freely give us all things.

Prayer
1. Father, we come to your throne to obtain mercy to help us in our time of need. We need mercy for our relationship with you, we need mercy for our families, for our children that we may guide them in the right paths. We need mercy for our nations that the leaders may do what is equitable. We need mercy for our world that you would preserve lives in the midst of this pandemic. Father, thank you that you pour out mercies abundantly for these things in Jesus’ name, amen.
2. O God of heaven and earth, if you were gracious enough to give us your best in sending your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, then how will you not give us everything that He has created for us freely. We come before you and lay down every fear and doubt, and with assurance, we make our requests known to you, guaranteed that we will not be denied. Thank you for hearing and answering our prayers through Jesus Christ, amen.
