Day 206

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 138, 139, 140
New Testament: Hebrews 2

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 138:1-3. The scriptures say that the name of the Lord is a strong tower (Proverbs 18:10), yet this Psalm tells us that God exalts His word above His name. It is great to call on the name of the Lord, but going to the word of the Lord is even better. This is a very strong reason to never let the word of the Lord depart from our eyes or mouth.

Hebrews 2:14-15. It is clearly written that Jesus went through death so he could destroy the devil who had the power of death and deliver us from the fear of death. The devil no longer has the power of death because Jesus took it from Him.

Prayer
1. O Lord, we praise you for your word which you have lifted above your name. We will not let your word depart from our eyes or our mouth, but will continually think on it, and speak it out. You reveal to us your power, wisdom and all that you are able to do through your word. May our faith rise on this basis and may all our prayers according to your word cause all mountains that stand before us to be removed.
2. Thank you Lord Jesus for destroying the works of the devil and taking back from him the power of death. You have delivered us from the bondage of the fear of death, and so today we declare that we are free from the fear of sickness, accidents, robbers, failures, poverty, rejection, regression, and every evil thing. All the power of the enemy is under our feet and we live in the power of God through Jesus Christ, hallelujah!
