Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 144, 145, 146
New Testament: Hebrews 4
Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 144:11-12. This prayer for deliverance from enemies that fight against us has the resultant effect of a release upon our children to fulfil their potential. Every battle against a Father or Mother is an indirect attack on their children. As parents, we must take our battles more seriously because of the downstream impacts.
Hebrews 4;14-16. Jesus is our high priest and He identifies with everything we go through. He endured temptation of every kind so He knows how it feels and will comfort us in our toughest temptations, but will also show us the path to victory.
Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, whatever battle I face, I trust you for the victory not only for myself, but for my children and their children. May we reap the generational benefits of every battle that we have won. May our sons grow in fruitfulness, may our daughters be beacons of faithfulness, may our storehouses overflow with your bountifulness. Thank you Lord for enlarging all our coasts through Jesus Christ, amen.
2. Lord Jesus, thank you that you are faithful to give us comfort in the hour of our trials, I receive strength for every challenge I face and the resolve to resist every temptation which fights against my soul. Thank you for giving me the victory through it all.
