Reading for today
Old Testament: Proverbs 15, 16, 17
New Testament: Hebrews 11
Thoughts from today’s reading
Proverbs 16:25. As individuals and as a society, we need to test the ways we choose to walk because man has a tendency to go astray once checks and balances are not in place. The way that seems right could be the way to death if left unchallenged.
Hebrews 11: 13-16. When it comes to believing God, it is a whole lot more than receiving any manifestation of the promises we are believing for. Our faith is about who we are believing, and following Him to the end of our journey here on earth. God is not ashamed of the one that believes this way even if they do not receive any physical manifestation of a promise. Sometimes, men make it seem like the one who has no manifestation has no faith, and they associate them with shame, but thank God that He doesn’t see and judge as man does.
Prayer
1. Lord, may your word and your Spirit guide our ways so that we are not led astray by what we think or what is popular in our society. We acknowledge that you know the best way we should live and your instructions lead to life. Thank you for delivering us from the paths of death through our relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. Lord, I thank you that you have respect of my faith towards you, and you are not ashamed of me whether I receive a manifestation or not. We can see from your word that true faith is about trusting you no matter the outcome. Father, I say that I hold on to your word as my truth and I commit to living that way all the days of my life.
