Day 231

Reading for today
Old Testament: Isaiah 12, 13, 14
New Testament: 1 John 1

Thoughts from today’s reading
Isaiah 12. In the day of salvation, we are to praise the Lord, call upon His name and declare His goodness among the nations. The day of salvation is now because Jesus has come to redeem us from the hand of the wicked one. If we understand this, we will throw off our complaints, sadness and depression, and we will take up the garment of praise and thanksgiving calling on the name of the Lord.

1 John 1:6-7. Our fellowship with the Lord gives us access to the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. We fellowship with Him by reading His word, praying, worshiping, obeying and giving thanks. We must walk with Him in our thoughts, words and deeds and when we fail we should be bold to approach Him to cleanse us from our mistakes.

Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, we give you praise and thanks today because this is the day you have made that we should rejoice and be glad in it. We are grateful for life and health, strength and peace, favour and order in our lives. We call on your name today for it is the name above all names and at the mention of your name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess your Lordship. We declare your name among the peoples showing them the way of salvation. Thank you Lord for your great power which is revealed in all the earth.
2. Lord we thank you that when we walk with you in fellowship the blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin. Thank you for the freedom from the power of sin and the devil, so that our lives are lived in a way that please and glorifies God. We commit ourselves to your word, prayer, worship and obedience. Jesus lead us and we will follow you in our thoughts, words and deeds.
