Day 247

Reading for today
Old Testament: Isaiah 60, 61, 62
New Testament: Revelation 9

Thoughts from today’s reading
Isaiah 60:1-3. The light of God is upon us, in fact, Jesus said we are now the light of world and we should let our light shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. It is through the church that men begin to see the glory of God on the earth.

Revelation 9:4. We are sealed by God and this guarantee’s that all manner of evil will not be able to harm us. In the midst of all trouble and tribulation, our hearts should trust and rest confident in God’s ability to keep us.

Prayer
1. Thank you Father for your light that shines on me and through me. May my life and the works I do ever bring glory to your name, may my actions be a catalyst for men to see God and to give Him their praise. May the way I love my family, better my friends, support my community, and are dedicated at my place of assignment, show the world around me God’s great goodness being lived out in the lives of men.
2. Father, you have sealed us with a mark that sets us apart from every evil and judgement that comes upon the world for their rebellion against God. Lord, I put my trust and confidence in you in the midst of trouble and in the presence of an evil generation. Just like you delivered the three Hebrew boys from the fire when they refused to bow to the idol of their age, thank you that you deliver us from the spirit of this age.
