Jeremiah 42:19-22. The people had come to Jeremiah the prophet to seek God’s direction for them, but they had no intention of doing what the Lord said if it did not fit in with what they wanted to do. The words of the prophet to this point had all come to pass, yet the people were still rebelling against the prophecies he was giving them.
Prayer
1. O Lord, as the psalmist prayed, search my heart and see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in your everlasting paths. Father, I yield my will to yours, to do all that you have instructed for me to do. What you say always comes to pass for you are the God that knows all things. I put to death anything in me that fights against what you have revealed. May it not lead me down the wrong road and to the place of destruction. Thank you Father for the grace for an obedient heart in Jesus’ name, amen.
