Reading for today
Old Testament: Lamentations 3, 4, Ezekiel 1, 2
Thoughts from today’s reading
Ezekiel 1:15-21. The vision of the prophet Ezekiel is very similar to that which apostle John saw in the book of Revelation. The four creatures with four faces and wings and eyes all around are the same. These creatures could move in four directions, wherever the Spirit of God wanted to go. The Lord is not restricted from moving in the north, south, east or west. The Lord is not restricted from moving in any nation where He chooses to go, but His glory will only reside with those who honour His word. This is why as the people of God we must invite His presence, not only with our prayers, but with the practice of obedience to His word.
Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, we come to your throne of glory and acknowledge you as the God who is awesome in power and might. There is nothing hidden from you and there is no place that the light of your glory cannot reach. Lord we pray that the glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea and we as your people, your church, stand as faithful and obedient ones who attract your presence in the earth. Lord you revealed that you departed from the nation of Israel in the time of Ezekiel because of their disobedience, so Father we thank you for your current promise through Jesus Christ that you will never leave us nor forsake us. In your presence if fulness of joy and life forevermore, so we thank you for your presence over us and over every place where we tread.
