Reading for today
Old Testament: Ezekiel 35, 36, 37, 38
Thoughts from today’s reading
Ezekiel 37:1-14. There is power in speaking the word of God to situation around us. Prophesying is calling a future that has not yet been into existence based on what God has revealed about it. The situation Ezekiel faced in the valley seemed pretty hopeless, how could dry and scattered bones ever become anything? Based on the revelation and instruction God gave him, he was able to see a valley full of an army of people and so he spoke what he saw.
Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, you are the one that knows the end from the beginning and so we trust you when you speak to us and reveal words concerning the future to us. Your word also declares in Revelation 19:10 that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. We thank you that everything Jesus Christ represents is full of insight into the future that you have for us to live in. We therefore prophesy into every situation we face and we speak life, health, peace, righteousness, joy, supply, strength, favour, victory and miracles. We prophesy into our mission as believers and speak an abundant harvest of souls coming to God, nations open up to the message of Christ, signs and wonders follow the preaching of the name of Jesus, and the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our God and Christ. Thank you for giving us access to these words of prophesy, and thank you for bringing to pass what we speak in Jesus’ name, amen.
