Day 41

Reading for today

Old Testament: Numbers 4, 5 ,6
New Testament: Mark 13

Thoughts from today’s reading
Numbers 4. We see here the division of labour and speciality in service assigned to the priests to serve in the tabernacle. Everyone had a part to play.
In the New Testament, we being many are one body and every member has a part to play, no one member is more important than the other.
Numbers 5:1-4. The ceremonial cleansing laws that were given by Moses thousands of years ago still hold true today. Principles of washing and hygiene and self isolation still keep us safe and stops the spread of diseases.
Numbers 6:2-5. I always thought that the Nazarite’s were male only, but the scripture clearly identifies that a Nazarite can be male of female.
God accepts the consecration and sacrifices of all His children.

Mark 13. This Chapter predicts the signs of the end times. Just in the first 2 months of this year we have experienced earthquakes, wars and rumours of wars, fire, pestilence and trouble in various places.
Jesus says at this time we need to boldly declare the message of the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth.

Prayer
1. Lord we pray that you will pour out your wisdom for the nations to employ the right strategy for the containment of the current pandemic. Let your mercy be poured out upon the nations and may doors be opened for the gospel to be preached to the uttermost parts of the earth. Grant your church boldness in preaching and performing miracles of healing to touch our world.
2. Father we pray a prayer of consecration to you, that your will be done in our lives and not our own will. Thank you that you accept the consecration of everyone called by your name where there is neither male nor female, but we are one in the body of Christ.
