Day 161

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 3, 4, 5
New Testament: 2 Corinthians 12

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 3:3-4. The Psalmist reveals in several psalms that the Lord is a shield for us. The shield is an instrument of defence against the missiles that an enemy throws against us. It absorbs the impact and neutralises the effects such that no weapon that meets it will be able to prosper.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10. The grace of God is enablement from the Lord to strengthen us in the times of our weaknesses. It requires us to completely trust the Lord in situations that we don’t understand especially when we have prayed for help and things in the natural don’t seem to be changing.

Prayer
1. Thank you Father that you are a shield for me and the one who lifts up my head when I am bowed down. You shine the light of your glory on me and cover me in the palms of your hands. I am confident that there is nothing that has been designed to hurt me that can ever work because you defend me completely. Hallelujah, you are great O Lord.
2. Lord, I come boldly to the throne of grace to find grace to help me in my time of need. In your presence, your grace is never lacking and your power is ever working to give me strength in the places of my weakness. Thank you for making me an overcomer by the grace of God.
