Day 162

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalms 6, 7, 8
New Testament: 2 Corinthians 13

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 8. The Lord takes delight in mankind and out of all His vast creation, He gives the most attention to us. His visitation allows His glory and honour to rub off on man, it also establishes man’s dominion on earth. What a mighty and gracious God we serve!

2 Corinthians 13:1. The Lord established a principle in the Old Testament which carried over into the New Testament. Judgement should not be carried out against anyone or in any situation without the witness of two or three. This is why it is important to have more than one scripture referencing a topic and how to deal with an issue. It is also good practice to receive confirmation of what you feel is the Lords direction for you from two or three other godly persons.

Prayer
1. Father, we praise you for your love for us and we are grateful that you care for us in the most intricate ways. Thank you for crowning us with glory and honour and giving us dominion over all the works of your hands. Blessed be your holy name O Lord.
2. Heavenly Father, as you have established the principle of confirmation with two or three witnesses, I pray that for every decision I need to make on the issues I face right now, You will lead me to the right scriptures to help me take the right actions. Where I am resolved to take an action, I ask for the right people to speak into my life to confirm it or to correct it. Thank you that you care about the decisions I make and the actions I take, and you will lead me in the right paths in Jesus’ name, amen.
