Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 18, 19, 20
New Testament: Galatians 4
Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 18:46-49. This Psalm reveals how The Lord fights for His people and how He strengthens us to fight. Because the Lord is Higher than any other power, He is able to lift us above those things that rise against us, no matter how high they rise up to put us under.
Galatians 4:16-20. Our Christian life is not one that is meant to be static, we are meant to grow in faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. There will be hinderances and distractions to that growth, and we must persevere in the place of prayer to ask for ourselves and others that Christ is formed in us.
Prayer
1. Lord I thank you that you have lifted me above everything and everyone that rises against me. Thank you for lifting me above sickness, deception, spiritual ignorance, lack, poverty, emotional turmoil, discouragement, stagnancy, regrets, failures, hypocritical people, liars, and all kinds of evil that seek to keep me under darkness. I praise you for this great deliverance in Jesus Christs name, amen.
2. Lord, we pray for ourselves and those in our circles of influence that Christs image will be front and centre of our mind and desire. May we always strive to obey His words as this is what makes us His disciples. You said the disciples will be like their master, and so we ask that in everything, we will be like Christ Jesus. Thank you for hearing our prayers in Jesus’ name, amen.
