Day 168

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 24, 25, 26
New Testament: Galatians 6

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 25:12-15. The Lord will teach the one who fears Him and show them His secrets. If you are taught by the Lord, you will prosper in all you do, you will also be delivered from the snares of the enemy.

Galatians 6:1-2. Bearing one another’s burdens fulfils the law of Christ and we know that the Law of Christ is that we love one another. Love seeks the good of another as revealed in 1 Corinthians 13. This should be a guide for how we deal with others.
Galatians 6:6-10. Doing good to others, especially a fellow believer, is an act of sowing to the Spirit, and when we do this, we shall reap the rewards of everlasting life. In this context sowing to the flesh is being selfish and unwilling to help others in any way we can.

Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, I come before you today to hear Your wisdom and to be taught your truth. Your truth is what makes me a disciple of Christ, but it also sets me free in every area of my life. I thank you for showing me your covenant of life, health, peace, power, prosperity, mercy and goodness through Jesus Christ, amen.
2. Lord, I dedicate myself to living a life of love for God and for my fellow man. I pray that my eyes would be opened to recognise the needs and burdens of other around me so that I can be a source of help and good in their lives. Let the Spirit of God guide me to people and places where I can do good, thus sowing to the Spirit. I thank you that I will reap from all that I have sown in Jesus’ name, amen.
