Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 33:13-15. The Lord is the one that has created each individual heart, and He understands each one. We are responsible for that unique way of thinking and processing life as God has given us the ability to do so.
Ephesians 3: 14-21. There is so much to know about God and His power towards man that we need to be strengthened on our inside in order to receive this understanding. Imagine a man receiving the news that his wife is pregnant with quadruplets, he is likely to sit down when he gets the news, some might even faint. In the same way, people who have received great fortune and were not strong on the inside have ended up loosing it.
What God has in store for us is many times more than we can actually imagine, so we need a lot of strength on the inside to receive it.
Prayer
1. Father, you have made each heart individually and uniquely. You have taken the time to specially craft the intricacies of my inward being. You understand the complexities of my thinking, feelings and behaviour and You chose to love me and sent your Spirit to guide me. I say thank you for your great love and care towards me.
2. Lord, I pray for the strength that comes from your Spirit to fill me up on the inside so that I am able to comprehend the vastness of your love towards me. You said you will do more than I ask or imagine, Lord, such knowledge is great and therefore I pray for the ability to receive all that you bless me with. May I carry every gift from the Lord with joy and may your blessings never lead me to the paths of sorrow. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
