Day 172

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 36, 37, 38
New Testament: Ephesians 4

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 37:37-38. The thoughts that God has towards His people is to give them a future filled with peace (Jeremiah 29:11). However, the expectation of the unrighteous and wicked person for their future shall be cut off.

Ephesians 4:30-32. It seems that the Holy Spirit can be grieved, not only by our personal disobedience or sin, but also by how we treat others and sin against them. We are to ensure that we speak with grace and in a way that builds up others, and we are to be forgiving to them just as God is forgiving to us.

Prayer
1. Lord, I thank you that the vision, plans and dreams in my heart for my future are guaranteed to come to pass because You have given me expectations that shall not be cut off or disappointed. Thank you Lord that no matter how well the unrighteous seem to do and however much they oppress, they will never be able to negate what you have prepared for those called by your name. I praise you for this in Jesus name, amen.
2. Heavenly Father, I thank you that through Christ you have forgiven me and brought me to a place of peace. Today, I put away from me bitterness, anger, quarrels, evil speaking and malice towards others. I take on kindness, tender-heartedness, and forgiveness which I actively bestow on those around me in my family, work place, neighbourhood and everywhere I conduct my living. Thank you Lord for the grace to be able to do this in Jesus’ name, amen.
