New Testament: Philippians 1
Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 47. We are encouraged to shout, clap and sing to the Lord most High for He is a great God and greatly to be praised. The Lord is our defence and shield and in Him we are greatly helped.
Philippians 1:6. If the Lord started a work in you, then He is surely faithful to complete it. You cannot be discouraged or give up, for if God is on your side, then who can be against you?
Prayer
1. Hallelujah! We sing to you O God most high, the creator of the heavens and the earth, the Lord God almighty, the one who has all power and might in His hand, our defence and shield, the one who subdues the enemy under our feet and lifts us to safety. We shout to you and sing your praises to the ends of the earth.
2. Thank you Lord Jesus, for you have started a good work in me. You have saved me putting a new heart in me. A heart designed to do the will of the Father thereby pleasing Him. If you started this work in me, you said you would surely complete it, for you will never leave me nor forsake me. Thank you Father that I can go through difficulties that look impossible to come out of, yet emerge victorious on the other side for you are with me always.
