Day 181

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 63, 64, 65
New Testament: Colossians 3

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 65:2-3. The Lord hears and answers prayers that is why all flesh seek Him. The one thing that separates us from God, which is our sin, He is able to cleanse us from it when we come to him. He is a merciful God and ever willing to hear us, forgive us and save us.

Colossians 3:16-17. The word of Christ should fill us up in abundance. One of the ways we know we are filled with His words is when we speak it freely to others. Another sign is the ease with which we are able to lift up songs to praise and worship the Lord from our heart. It also affects our actions as we do all things purposefully to give glory to God.

Prayer
1. Thank you Lord that your ear is not too deaf to hear the faintest cry of anyone who seek your mercy and help in a time of need. You provided forgiveness to remove the barriers of sin and iniquity that keep us away from you. We are grateful that you have made a sure way for us to approach you through Jesus Christ our Lord.
2. Lord Jesus, you said if we continue to follow what you have said, then we are truly your disciples. We therefore allow your words to fill us up to overflowing as we daily read it, listen to it and act on it. Thank you that your word changes us and causes our actions to bring glory to God.
