Day 185

Reading for today
Old Testament: 75, 76, 77
New Testament: 1 Thessalonians 3

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 77:7-15. When it seems like the Lord is not moving, rather than focus on our situation that doesn’t seem to be changing for good, we should instead remember the ways the Lord has done wondrous things for us in the past. These memories will always lead to praise, and praise leads to the presence of God.

1 Thessalonians 3:4-5. As believers in Jesus Christ, we will suffer tribulation because of our faith. This should not take us by surprise nor cause us to be discouraged. If we are not reminded of this, Satan will seeks to take advantage of us in our time of trouble, tempting us to question the faithfulness of God like he did to Job.

Prayer
1. Lord, I remember all that you have done for me. Your great hand and power delivered me from sin, death and the grave, you saved me and gave me new life. Thank you that you healed me in my mind and body. Thank you that you provided for my food, clothing and shelter. Thank you that I am alive and well today. I thank you for the education I have, the work and the business you have given me. I thank you for my family, that you keep us all well and safe. You have done great and marvellous things in my life of which I am truly grateful.
2. Heavenly Father, I thank you for your word informs us of what we need to do in every situation so that we are always a step ahead of the enemy of our soul and our circumstances. We praise you that even in the middle of trouble you will revive us, you will cover us and we will come out of it better than before we went into it. Thank you that the devil will never get an advantage over us in our most trying times. We give you praise for this in Jesus’ name, amen.
