Day 190

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 90, 91, 92
New Testament: 2 Thessalonians 3

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 91. The Lord is a great defence and deliverer from every situation including plagues, pestilences and pandemics. Because we trust in Him, none of these things have the power to come near us. He covers and shields us from them, He gives His angels orders to keep us from places where we could be harmed.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-15. The Christian life should be one of good example, we are to behave in an orderly manner at all times. We should not be carried away with the idea of getting something for nothing or free of charge, but rather be willing to work for things, so that we are not a burden, but a blessing.

Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, we say thank you for being a marvellous God who we know has our best interest on His mind and heart at all times. Thank you for keeping us safe from every destruction, of those we can see and those we cannot see. Thank you for sending angelic beings to work for our total protection from danger and harm. We are truly grateful and rest confidently in you care, free from every worry and fear.
2. O Lord, you are a God of order and you said that all things should be done decently and in order in your church (1 Corinthians 14:40). We pray that you pour out on us the grace to maintain order in all areas of our lives. Wherever we feel that things are getting out of control or have run away from us, we cry out for your help to get things back on track. May we never grow tired from doing the right things just as you commanded us. Thank you Lord for hearing and helping us today in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
