Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 105, 106, 107
New Testament: 1 Timothy 5
Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 105:13-15. In all our life’s journey, God has not permitted anyone to harm us and has marked us with His anointing. He has rebuked kings, powerful people with authority in the land, that they may not be able to deny us our place or inheritance in the land.
1 Timothy 5. We see in the scriptures that the church is a place of respect and honour for everyone irrespective of their age, sex, background, education, marital status etc. There should be no prejudice or partiality in dealing with each person.
Prayer
1. Thank you Lord for your anointing on our lives that sets us apart and identifies us as the people of God who are not to be harmed. Thank you for rebuking powerful men that we did not even know were seeking our harm. Thank you for protecting us in all situations and granting us safe passage from where we are, to our place of promise. We give you praise for this in Jesus name, amen.
2. Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us a place in your body and your house here on earth, which is your church. We thank you for teaching us to honour one another and to speak the truth in love to one another. Thank you for the people you have placed around us who can tell us the truth when we are walking in ways that lead to destruction. We tank you that as we maintain our good works, we will see the rewards of them in our lives in Jesus’ name, amen.
