Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 132, 133, 134
New Testament: Philemon 1
Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 133. The power of unity cannot be over emphasised. God’s blessing is already commanded in the place of unity. Unity produces the power of synergy where one can chase a thousand, but two can chase ten thousand. We must protect the place of unity in our homes, at work or in our communities.
Philemon 1:6. An understanding of all the good things that are in us through Christ Jesus is important. Acknowledging those things make us effective in sharing our faith. Identify the peace in you and share how Christ has delivered you from anxiety, that will become an effective and powerful tool to reach the unsaved. There are many other examples of what Christ has done in you, so be willing to share it.
Prayer
1. Lord, we pray that we will walk in a spirit of unity and fight off everything that attacks unity in our homes, churches, work places and communities. We release the power of forgiveness which you have bestowed on us, we will not hold on to the faults of one another, but will walk in love and release one another from offences. Thank you for the blessing you have commanded in the place of our unity, thank you for this great way to live our lives to it’s fullest through Jesus Christ, amen.
2. Lord Jesus, open my eyes to all that you have worked into my life, let me be reminded of every good thing you have done in my spirit, soul and body. I pray for the grace to be thankful and always acknowledge what I do have, and not complain about what I don’t have. As I share my faith, may it be effective in touching the hearts of those that hear it, encouraging the believer and converting the unbeliever. Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayers and sending the answers, amen.
