Day 209

Reading for today
Old Testament: Psalm 147, 148, 149
New Testament: Hebrews 5

Thoughts from today’s reading
Psalm 147:2-3. The Lord builds, repairs and restores us externally, but even more so internally, where he binds up our broken heart and heals our wounds.

Hebrews 5:7-14. Jesus Christ our High priest and author of our salvation went through suffering as He obeyed God. He has promised that we will enter into His salvation by our own acts of obedience to Him. When He speaks, we should listen and practice what He reveals, this leads to our maturity. Hearing Him and not practicing it keeps us as babies, still needing to learn foundational principles of God.

Prayer
1.Thank you Father that you not only build our broken down walls and the physical ruins we can see in our lives, but more importantly you heal us and build us up on the inside so that we are able to deal with what is on the outside. Thank you for inner strength and fortification through Jesus Christ, amen.
2. O Lord, we receive strength as we cry out to you, that we will walk in obedience to your word. We commit ourselves to practicing the word of God at the foundational principles. We choose to practice, faith, prayer, studying the word, righteousness, forgiveness, walking away from lusts, giving, preaching the gospel and more. May our obedience and practice of the truth lead to our spiritual growth and maturity. Thank you Lord for helping us to progress in Jesus’ name, amen.
