Reading for today
Old Testament: Isaiah 45, 46, 47
New Testament: Revelation 4
Thoughts from today’s reading
Isaiah 45:1-3. The Lord spoke concerning Cyrus, who would later become the king of Babylon, that He would help him to come to a place of power and prominence so he could help the people of God to return to their land in Israel. Our God is merciful and will raise up help for us in the areas we need it most.
Revelation 4. This is a powerful chapter on worship and it lets us see how true worship should be done in giving all the praise, honour and thanks to our God.
Prayer
1. Thank you Father that you raise up helpers for our lives and destiny. Lord just as you raised up Cyrus who did not know God, Father we put our faith in you as the one that is able to raise up people of different religions or persuasions who sit in position of authority and influence over the things that affect us. Thank you that you tug at their hearts to make judgements that favour the advancement of your kingdom and your children.
2. Father, we worship you today, with all of our hearts we bow before your throne casting down all accolades in our lives to thank you. You gave us life, we say thank you. You fed us, clothed us and housed us, we say thank you. You placed us in company of family and friends, we honour you. You have blessed the work of our hands and given us good success, we praise you. You have saved our soul and cleansed us from sin, we give you all the glory. You have made us your children and co-labourers with Christ to bring many lives to salvation, we honour you. The God who was, and who is, and who is to come, we will never stop expressing our worship to you, now and forevermore.
