Day 253

Reading for today
Old Testament: Jeremiah 12, 13 ,14
New Testament: Revelation 15

Thoughts from today’s reading
Jeremiah 13:1-8. It is a glorious thing to be united with the Lord just like a sash is tied around the waist and beautifies the appearance of the one who wears it. We make God look glorious when we hear and obey His word and walk in His ways. When we disobey, we are like a ruined sash that is not fit to be worn.

Revelation 15. Again we see worship playing a part in the proceedings in heaven. God inhabits the praises of His people, and when His glory occupies the place of our praise no one is able to stand or fit into what He has occupied.

Prayer
1. Lord, thank you for keeping us close to you and hiding our lives in Christ Jesus who is in God. May we never be deceived to come out of the place of trusting your precious promises and walking in our own efforts and self righteousness which leads us down the path of the disobedient. Thank you that our lives will continue to bring praise and honour to your name, that men may see our good works and glorify God in heaven.
2. Lord, you inhabit the praise of your people and just like you showed up for apostle Paul and Silas in the Philippian jail, we are sure that you will show up in every challenging situation we find ourselves in today as we praise your glorious name. We choose to sing of your faithfulness and power in the face of every contradicting situation in our lives. Thank you for the victory and the strength to overcome it all.
