Reading for today
Old Testament: Jeremiah 33, 34, 35
New Testament: Revelation 22
Thoughts from today’s reading
Jeremiah 33:3. This is a great promise of God that we can call unto Him and He will show us great and mighty things that are to come. Our God knows the end from the beginning and He is interested in guiding His children to an end that is glorious and full of the manifestations of His promises. Eyes have not seen these things, nor ears heard, them, but He reveals them to us by His Spirit, when we incline our hearts to seek him.
Revelation 22:14. Blessed are those that do what the Lord has commanded because they will have access to the tree of life and the gates of the city of God. Jesus said the doers of His word are like the man who built his house on a rock. This is why the enemy fights so hard to make us see God’s instructions as impractical, and just like he deceived Eve in the garden, he daily seeks to deceive us to take alternative routes instead of walking in God’s ways.
Prayer
1. Lord, I call upon you today, open my eyes to see what you desire to do in my life, family, work, and community. You said that you have great and mighty things in store which you reveal to your children by your Spirit. As you open my eyes and heart today, may I be filled with wisdom and strength to prepare adequately and follow through to manifestation what you have revealed to me. Thank you Father for your gracious gift of insight in Jesus name, amen.
2. Heavenly Father, thank you for the access that you have given me to the tree of life and the gates of heaven. I choose to obey your instructions daily no matter what they are, and I know that your commandments are not difficult nor grievous, but they are designed for my highest good. I close my heart to the words and deceptions of the devil to make me seek alternative ways to accomplish things in rebellion to the commands of God. Thank you for giving me victory over him through Jesus Christ.
