Day 265

Reading for today
Old Testament: Jeremiah 52, Lamentations 1, 2, 3

Thoughts from today’s reading
Lamentations 3:22-26. Because of the Lord’s mercies, we have not been consumed in the midst of great trouble. Because His compassions do not fail, our lives are preserved. When judgement is what we deserve, mercy steps in and takes the blow that was meant for us. Jesus Christ is the representation of mercy in its truest form. He took our place in death for the penalty of our sins, and gave us His place in righteousness before God. O what mercy the Lord has shown us for all eternity.

Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, I come before your throne which you called a throne of mercy and grace, and I say thank you for the mercy that you have poured out on me through Jesus Christ. In the midst of difficult times like pandemics, civil unrests, disasters in divers places, economic hardships and many other troubles, you have kept me, you have preserved me. Lord, let your mercy flow freely to those around me. I pray for family, friends, colleagues and country men who are going through a tough time physically, mentally and emotionally at this time. Father, let mercy and compassion pour out on them right now, lift them up, bind broken hearts, comfort crying eyes, fill them with hope, show them the power of your salvation. Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer in Jesus name, amen.
