Reading for today
Old Testament: Daniel 11, 12, Hosea 1, 2
Thoughts from today’s reading
Daniel 11:32-35. We see a lot of political intrigue in this part of the visions Daniel saw. In the midst of changing governments and various kings rising and falling from power, the word to the faithful is that they should know their God, and they will do exploits in spite of what is happening around them.
We are in unprecedented times in our own generation and we must not get carried away by the political agenda’s of our generation, but we must focus on knowing our God, doing His will and turning many to righteousness.
Prayer
1. Father, we come to you now and present our hearts before you. In any way we have allowed ourselves to be distracted from the things that God has called us to do and been preoccupied with political agenda’s of our nations, we repent of it. You called us to pray for those in authority, not to fight for them or against them, so we pray that your wisdom and your will be established in our governments. Lord, we focus our attention on knowing you more and the power of your resurrection which is able to save the souls of men. We pray to know the fellowship of your sufferings, so we are not filled with pride in what your power enables us to accomplish. We pray to know your ability to turn every situation that is akin to death into one of resurrection and life (Philippians 3:10-14). Through our knowledge of Christ, may we affect many lives to turn them from sin unto God, this we pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
