Reading for today
Old Testament: Zechariah 14, Malachi 1, 2, 3
Thoughts from today’s reading
Malachi 3:16-18. We see here an important principle that when we speak about the Lord and the things of God with fellow believers, God listens and hears. That means our fellowship with one another is just as potent as prayer which God listens to and hears. It’s therefore no wonder Jesus said in Matthew 18:19-20 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Prayer
1. Heavenly Father, we thank you for setting us among those family members, friends and colleagues who believe in you, so that we have another avenue to access your presence and secure your answers to our desires and requests. Jesus you said if we agree with them on anything we ask, it will be done by God in heaven. Lord, today we agree that it will be a fruitful day because it is a day you have made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. We agree that we walk in full health and every symptom of sickness departs from our bodies. We agree that depression and discouragement have no place around us and we replace them with optimism, hope, joy and praise. We agree that all of our needs are supplied richly just like you feed the birds of the air and clothe the flowers of the field. We agree that we are safe from all dangers, fear and harm because we are surrounded by the presence of the Lord. We agree that we are the light of the world and thus are shining a message that attracts the unsaved into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Thank you Father for blessing us with such a privilege to live this way now and always.
