Reading for today
Old Testament: Genesis 7, 8, 9
New Testament: Matthew 3
Thoughts from today’s reading
Genesis 7:4. God gave Noah exactly 7 days notice for when the flood would come. Noah had prepared for years before this to build the ark in obedience to God. He was told a flood would come but had no idea when it would happen. The update came when he had completed the instruction from God to build the ark.
If God had given Noah the date of the flood before he started building, he may have been giving God reasons why he could not complete the ark before D-day, or he may have relaxed and not prepared thinking he had time.
Prayer’s
1. Ask for the grace to be obedient to Gods instructions to you knowing that when your obedience is complete, He is ready to deal with all disobedience from any quarters that work against you.
2. Ask for wisdom to always prepare even when it’s not apparent that you need to, so that you are ready to respond to situations even at the shortest notice.
Pastor Faj. Two things came to me fresh this morning. From Genesis 7. In verse two, God asked Noah to take in 2 pairs of Unclean animals, and 7 of the clean. My lesson here is this, ONLY GOD QUALIFIES THE UNQUALIFIED. By man’s standards, for that kind of journey of uncertainty, they wouldn’t want to carry a liability as we would say, but God doesn’t reason so! There’s nothing useless in the eyes of God. Have you noticed that the broken down clock still tell the correct time twice everyday? No one is useless. The other thing, The Ark was not a ship, had no rudders, had no sail, but God stirred it around as the rains fell for the 40 days, and the times preceding, storing it to safety. Just let God be your captain. O pari! He will do the rest!
“Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.”
Matthew 3:8 NLT
This is why Jesus says by their fruit you shall know them with regards to false prophets. There will be many that will say Lord Lord I did all these wonderful things in your name but He will say depart from me I know you not.
We have to allow the word of God transform us so that we show by our conduct that we are living a life led by the Spirit
