Reading for today
Old Testament: Exodus 38, 39, 40
New Testament: Mark 2
Thoughts from today’s reading
Exodus 39:32. God was very clear, detailed and specific about all the work He wanted done for the tabernacle. Moses was then clear, detailed and specific in what he instructed the children of Israel to do. The children of Israel carried out the work to the clarity, detail and specifics of what God wanted.
As children of God, we have access to clarity, detail and specifics of Gods plan for our lives, either directly from Him, or through ministry leaders he has appointed.
Exodus 40:33-35. Moses finished the work God had instructed him to do, and when he had set up the tabernacle, the glory of God rested upon the tabernacle.
Whenever we do the good work that God has instructed us to do, His glory is revealed. Matthew 5:16 says that when men see our good works, they will glorify God in heaven.
Mark 2:5-12. The Pharisees were opposing what Jesus said to the paralytic man in their hearts. Jesus asks a question in response to their thoughts, whether it is easier to heal or forgive sins. He did not answer it, but we can deduce that the forgiveness of sin is more important for the human soul than any other thing. If we are forgiven and put in right standing with God, we can then receive any other gift from him including the healing of our bodies.
Prayers
1. Father, I pray that my eyes will see and my ears will hear the specific instructions and directions you give to me by your Spirit. As I obey and do what you have instructed me, may your glory be revealed upon my life and the works I do and may men see this and glorify You.
2. Lord Jesus, thank you for the forgiveness of sins. May I be filled with boldness to declare your word to the unsaved and bring your forgiveness to them. May the word of the Lord in my mouth be powerful to silence every voice of accusation that opposes the work of God, and may it bring healing, deliverance and physical manifestations of total freedom to those who hear it.
