Reading for today
Old Testament: Numbers 28, 29, 30
New Testament: Luke 5
Thoughts from today’s reading
Numbers 28:2. God specifically mentions that there is an appointed time for each of the acts of worship to him. What we do is just as important as when we do it.
Numbers 29. As you look through all the items of sacrifice that were to be made to the Lord, the sin offering was a baby goat while offerings to please God were bulls and a lot more items.
Christ’s sacrifice dealt with sin, but we must understand that the essence of the sacrifice, or the greater part of it was for righteousness and peace with God. It is possible to forgive someone and not want a relationship with them anymore, God forgave us and brought us into the closest relationship we can have with Him.
Luke 5:1-5. Just being in the presence of the word of God made Peter willing to try again at what he had failed at all night.
Look out for the instructions that come to you as you continue in the presence of Gods word and watch Him perform the miracles that He has promised.
Prayer
1. Father I pray that I will observe your timings and be ready to offer my sacrifice of praise at the times you require it. When your Spirit leads me to study, pray or witness to others, I will be quick to obey and do it at the time you require.
2. Thank you Lord for the power of your word that works in me releasing faith that moves mountains. I believe and will not doubt that your plans for me are eternally good to give me a future that is filled with life and peace.
