I’ve found this app really useful in helping me get back into reading the word of God. Currently doing the 60 day challenge and I’ve found it to be a real eye opener; I’m falling back in love with God’s word.
I have a question please that I hope can be answered on this platform.
Genesis 28:22 ‘then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you’.
My question is: Was Jacob the first person to establish the principal of tithe?
Hi Esther,
Thanks for your comments. In relation to your question, Jacob was not the first to establish the principle of Tithing. We see Abraham doing this in Genesis 14:18-21 where he gave Melchizedek the high priest, a tithe of what he took in the battle of the five kings. this principle was passed down to Isaac and then to Jacob.
